What is Connect?
Now more than ever, being connected with your child(ren)’s learning community is vitally important.
Once you join Connect, you will be able to see information specific to your own child or children such as:
Developed by the Department of Education WA for staff, students and parents in public schools, Connect is an online environment integrated with existing Department systems and services including digital resources, Western Australian Curriculum, email and Reporting to Parents. Invitations to join Connect have been sent to the email address provided to the school by you.
Please note that class use of Connect will vary depending on computer availability for students at school and the nature of the subject.
How to access Connect
Upon registration, parents will be given their own secure login to Connect through the school. This will be a P-number as a user name. You will be provided with an opportunity to create a password of your choosing.
The web address to access Connect is http://connect.det.wa.edu.au.
If you have multiple children, you will only need one login – even if your children attend different public schools. You will require Internet access and a computer, tablet or smartphone device.
Student Access to Connect
You can support your children not only in accessing any Connect classes available, but helping them to log on to Connect. To do this, they use their school user name and passwords. Typically, their user name is formatted as Firstname.Lastname (for instance, Fred.Smith), though some students do have numbers after their name (for instance Fred.Smith3). Don’t worry if your child does not know their login ID or can’t remember their password; you can telephone the school on 08 6821 3000 and our office staff will be able to provide you with the necessary details.
Student user accounts are managed at school. If, at any time, your child(ren) have difficulty accessing Connect, please telephone us on 08 6821 3000.
