Year 6 students brush up on dental health

The year 6 students had a dental health presentation recently, delivered by Pamela and Kayleen from the Spencer Park Dental Clinic. They learned the importance of brushing all surfaces of their teeth for two minutes, twice a day. They looked at the amount of sugar in a range of popular food and drinks, which was quite surprising!  Finally, they felt what happens to egg shells when they’re soaked in Coca-Cola. This was compared to what happens to our teeth if they’re not brushed regularly enough. Click here to see our photos.

The talk was really interesting and informative, and the students were very excited to get their own dental care packs, containing a toothbrush, tube of toothpaste and a special ‘disclosing tablet’ that shows up where plaque has been missed after their teeth have been brushed. Thank you for taking time to visit us Pamela and Kayleen, we really appreciate your great dental health messages.
