09 Mar Marimba – Fu Xiao

Our Year 5/6 students have been working exceptionally hard in music with Mrs Swann. They are learning a Chinese piece on the marimbas called Fu Xiao.

The marimba is a percussion instrument consisting of a set of wooden bars struck with yarn wrapped or rubber mallets to produce musical tones.

Students are reading both treble and bass clefs and certain parts of the piece require students to use two mallets simultaneously.  It’s sounding absolutely beautiful!
