05 Jul Room 19 celebrates NAIDOC Week
Our Spencer Park Primary School community had an exceptionally busy last week of Term 2 celebrating NAIDOC Week. NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Stay tuned this week as we share with you some snapshots of our NAIDOC Week activities starting with Mrs Fletcher’s Room 19…
We have had a fabulous NAIDOC Week! Tom’s mum Eileen visited us and told us the Noongar story of Mamang the whale. The children then made origami whales with her, we made damper and had it with hot milo for morning tea. We painted gum leaves with dots and lines in our school colours to make a beautiful NAIDOC wreath which can be seen in these photos (please click here).
