17 Jun Red faction runs away with cross country win
The forecast was a bleak, windy and wet 15 degrees but fortunately for us…the weather held off and our school community enjoyed the 2022 Faction Cross Country event. It was wonderful to see so many families come along to cheer on our students who were so proud of their efforts.
The Year 3 girls eagerly kicked off proceedings running hard from the start learning how important it is to pace yourself when running long distance. They were soon followed by the Year 3 boys and students in Years 4, 5 and 6. Our super energetic Pre Primary, Year 1 and Year 2 students had a fabulous time in the middle of the school oval with a fun run and obstacle course.
Mr Hadlow was particularly impressed with the determination and sportsmanship displayed throughout the event. He made special mention of and thanked the students who stopped their own race to offer help to a student who had taken a tumble.
So, who won? RED faction won the day followed by Gold and Green. The students would like to thank Mr Luscombe for his hard work in coordinating the event and also our dedicated SPPS staff and school volunteers for their great encouragement and support.
